St. Vincent de Paul CARES is Hiring a Grant Manager (FT) Near Petersburg, FL

SUMMARY:
The Grants Manager (GM) is responsible for searching, developing and applying for Federal Contracts and local Government grants. In addition to researching and writing grant proposals on behalf of our non-profit organization, the GM is in charge of maintaining a grants calendar to monitor the application process and keep track of various deadlines. The GM also prepares a monthly Grants Procurement Report to be presented to the Executive Team the first meeting after month end. The GM must be comfortable reaching out to institutional and potential donors, as well as communicating with company leaders regarding their financial needs. Our ideal candidate is someone who will be able to support our organization enthusiastically in attaining new funding and retaining the funding it currently holds to serve the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed.   • Displaying adherence to organization’s mission.
  • Maintaining proficient knowledge of organization’s history and programs.
  • Assisting with the execution of development department's strategy.
  • Researching & Identifying renewal & new grant funding opportunities.
  • Writing, submitting and managing grant proposals.
  • Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents.
  • Ability to write and maintain multi-million dollar Federal grants.
  • Maintaining records in hard copies and computer databases.
  • Research, prepare, and submit proposals for funding.
  • Follow all requirements and deadlines for grant applications.
  • Maintain a grants calendar to monitor progress.
  • Communicate with potential donors and institutional donors.
  • Write sponsorship packages.
  • Review budget proposals with the CFO or other team leaders.
  • Develop grants strategy, and apply for federal and state grant funding.
  • Provide stewardship to current donors, including work with Grants & Research Manager to provide regular written updates.
  • Update/revise the Grant Routing/Review process to ensure all stakeholders have input & approval proposals.
  • Supervise/Train the Grants Specialist to assist in grants research/writing/approval process as well as contract budget preparation.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complies with all applicable training requirements.
  • Complies with all company safety, personnel and operational policies and procedures.
  • Complies with work schedule to ensure effective operations of Agency programs. 
  • Contributes positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to fulfill the Society of St. Vincent de Paul South Pinellas, Inc. Mission.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (Pending on position and if prior to hire is approved by Chief Executive Officer, a comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum education qualifications).
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years’ demonstrated ability to research grant opportunities and convert requirements into successful applications.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Ability to construct required, often complex, budgets for applications.
  • Preferred experience writing Federal, State, City and private foundation applications.
  • Preferred experience in non-profit direct services and/or program coordination is highly desirable.
GENERAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Working in an office/site requires prolonged sitting at the computer workstation; standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 40lbs. and some driving. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, and other office equipment. It is also required to regularly sit, speak, and listen, the employee is also required to walk, use hands and fingers to type, operate equipment, and maintain records and notes. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
Must handle new and diverse work problems on a daily basis. Personal maturity is an important attribute. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure. Must have the ability to listen objectively to people, perceive the real problem and assist in bringing issues to a successful conclusion. Must relate and interact with, volunteers, clients, contractors, visitors and employees at all levels within the Agency.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Environment will occasionally become noisy due to equipment operations and interactions among clients and staff. There may be the possibility of being exposed to communicable disease, possible exposure to verbal abuse or similar behavior from residents/clients. On an as needed basis, employees may be called upon to work outside of the established work schedule, or work odd hours. All information associated with the Agency is confidential.
